Job Description:

Senior Lawyer, International Retail Brand

About the Company

This leading fashion and homewares retailer has an opportunity for a senior commercial lawyer to join for a contract of at least 6-8 months (although this may be extended.)

About the Opportunity

As a senior commercial lawyer for a high profile retail brand, you will lead on complex, business critical contracts. Given the business is international and exists in many markets, lots of the work involves contracts for the supply and distribution of goods in multiple markets. This is a varied position and in addition, you will also lead on negotiations in relation to a range of other matters including business projects and procurement, particularly on a cross-border basis. Whilst certainly part of the European legal team based in the UK, the role will best suit an individual who can directly support the business on complex negotiations.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, establishing relationships quickly and effectively across Europe and the US.

About You

Experience of large commercial contracts, particularly relating to distribution and logistics is key; more general corporate and commercial experience will be highly regarded. Experience in and an understanding of industry which relate to the movement of goods across borders would be welcome. The ability to hit the ground running on establishing relationships across a complex business is important, as well as bringing a balance between being able to manage stakeholders whilst also finding ways to support the business.

A commercial contracts background would be useful, although a corporate background is also of interest. The ability to foster strong working relationships and work with a highly commercial, international business is essential.

This is a unique opportunity to join a consumer-led, high profile international organisation in a key role for the business.

The business has a 2 day a week hybrid working policy in its North London/Hertfordshire border office.
