Laboratory Technician

Location – Plymouth

My client are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician for a live MOD project

A Laboratory Technician provides control compliance within an UKAS accredited laboratory providing exceptional quality for customers in a safe working environment

Key Tasks

• Carrying out sampling and testing in line with Standards and customers specification.
• Carry out a point of work risk assessment.
• Checking that equipment to be used is in calibration and if broken or damaged this is reported to line manager immediately.
• Entering and completing on appropriate sheets all records, readings and results that arise from the procedure being carried out.
• Communicate clear instructions to site teams based on a thorough understanding of Client specification and expectations.
• Provide clear and concise data to demonstrate compliance.
• Carry out testing using equipment checked for calibration to demonstrate compliance.
• Deliver daily/weekly work programmes with site teams.
• Provide advice to others.
• Training other staff in sampling and test procedures.
• Maintain detailed site diary.
• Maintain personal CPD record and CV to demonstrate career development.
• Carry out any other relevant duties as requested from tie to time.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities
• CSCS Card
• Comprehensive range of experience demonstrated by CPD record and CV

Desirable:

• First Aid at Work
• Technical Member IOM³/ICE
• Technical Seminars and Workshops
