As our new Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll provide technical expertise in the design, maintenance and improvement of electrical and instrumentation systems across our manufacturing site. You’ll play a key role in ensuring plant reliability, safety and compliance while supporting the delivery of engineering projects and site improvements.
Working as part of our EC&I team, you’ll collaborate closely with technicians, engineers, production teams and external contractors to design and implement new installations, support existing control systems and deliver capital projects. This is an opportunity to apply your specialist engineering knowledge in a complex process manufacturing environment while helping to maintain safe, efficient and reliable operations.
Some of your key responsibilities:

- Manage and deliver small capital projects from design through to commissioning.
- Provide technical support and guidance on plant electrical and control system issues.
- Maintain and develop site control systems, PLCs, SCADA and associated documentation.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety, engineering standards and relevant legislation.
What we’re looking for:
- HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent Level 4 qualification).
- Experience working within a process manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design, including hazardous area installations.
- Experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems and electrical control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Support the EC&I team during the 2 week summer shutdown (normally July/August), primarily back office technical support but may include project work depending on business needs
