An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business. This role offers the chance to take ownership of procurement strategy across complex, high-value projects while leading a small procurement team and driving supplier excellence.
This position would suit a commercially focused procurement professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational procurement in a project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies across high-value engineering and manufacturing projects.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating favourable commercial agreements and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project, and operational teams from concept through to project completion.
- Manage sourcing activities for specialist, bespoke, and long lead-time components.
- Lead cost reduction, value engineering, and continuous supply chain improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and enhance supplier performance, ensuring quality, delivery, compliance, and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a small procurement team to support business growth and performance.
About You
- Proven procurement experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related technical sectors.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills with experience managing complex supplier agreements.
- Comfortable operating within project-based environments where requirements are often bespoke and technically driven.
- Able to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to procurement delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple suppliers, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Technical awareness of engineered products, mechanical systems, or manufactured components would be advantageous.
