Housing Officer – South West (home based in Bristol area) – 12m fixed term

37.5 hours per week

£33 – 35k PA (+ business mileage)

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Housing Officer to manage our South West patch of c. 105 tenants, covering Maternity Leave for a fixed 12 month term.

You will act as a key contact for tenants, their representatives and partner agencies, providing strong oversight of building safety, tenancy performance, and neighbourhood issues to improve tenant satisfaction and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support tenants to sustain tenancies, addressing concerns promptly and managing reaches when necessary
  • Manage lettings and voids, ensuring homes are allocated appropriately and efficiently
  • Work with tenants to maximise income, access benefits, and maintain financial sustainability
  • Ensure buildings are safe and compliant with landlord obligations and fire safety regulations
  • Build positive relationships with care teams, local authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Delivering tenant engagement or service improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance monitoring and service improvement

You need to:

  • Be experienced in housing management, tenancy sustainment, and ASB resolution
  • Be skilled in building trust with vulnerable adults and managing complex needs (learning disabilities, autism, mental health, etc.)
  • Be knowledgeable of regulatory requirements for specialist supported housing, landlord and tenant responsibilities, housing legislation, and safeguarding processes
  • Be confident handling challenging situations, prioritising workload, and working independently
  • Be IT literate and comfortable using case management systems
  • Have a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and be able to travel to schemes regularly
  • ·Have flexibility to meet operational needs and attend training, including monthly visits to Head Office in Salford.
