Planning Lawyer (Locum)
Fully Remote | £60+ per hour D.O.E | 3–6 Month Contract
Our Local Authority client is seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to join its legal team on a locum basis for an initial 3–6 month assignment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied and interesting planning caseload within a supportive team environment, with strong paralegal support and no requirement to attend planning committee meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert legal advice on a broad range of planning matters
- Drafting, negotiating and completing Section 106 Agreements
- Advising on and drafting Section 278 Highways Agreements
- Providing advice on Lawful Development Certificates
- Managing planning enforcement matters
- Handling a diverse caseload including:
- Minerals and waste matters
- Phosphate-related issues
- Quarry developments
- General planning and development work
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
- Significant experience in local authority planning law
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating Section 106 Agreements
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Contract Details:
- Initial 3–6 month contract
- Fully remote working
- Full-time preferred, although part-time applicants will be considered
- Competitive rate of £60+ per hour (dependent on experience)
- Strong paralegal support provided
- No committee attendance required
