Our client is a specialist electrical engineering company delivering innovative power quality and reactive compensation solutions to customers across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, manufacture, testing and delivery of advanced electrical systems including harmonic filters, power factor correction (PFC) equipment and associated power quality solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working across the full engineering lifecycle and wants to see their designs progress from concept through manufacture, testing and final delivery.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across engineering and manufacturing activities, ensuring products are designed, built and tested to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts and manufacturing documentation.
  • Supporting manufacturing teams during assembly, wiring and testing activities.
  • Leading Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and product validation.
  • Carrying out fault finding, root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supporting electrical site surveys and gathering technical information for project delivery.
  • Developing and improving engineering standards, processes and product quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with IEC, BSI and other relevant industry standards.
  • Providing technical support and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
  • Working closely with project, procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

We are keen to speak with engineers who have experience within power quality, electrical manufacturing, switchgear, power systems or related industries.

Applicants should ideally have experience in:

  • Harmonic filters and power quality systems.
  • Power factor correction and reactive compensation equipment.
  • LV and HV electrical systems.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Electrical fault finding and root cause analysis.
  • Electrical design and engineering documentation.
  • Manufacturing support and product development.
  • Electrical testing and commissioning.

Experience with electrical CAD packages such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar would be advantageous.

About You

You will be a technically strong electrical engineer with a practical mindset and the ability to bridge the gap between design, manufacturing and testing.

You will possess:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working within industrial, power systems, switchgear, manufacturing or power quality environments.
  • A proactive approach and desire to drive continuous improvement.
