About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our engineering and maintenance function within a busy manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong people leader who is passionate about improving equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement, and developing high-performing teams.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the site’s maintenance strategy, ensuring production assets operate safely, efficiently and reliably. Working closely with operational teams, you’ll lead initiatives that improve performance, reduce downtime and support the delivery of business objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop a skilled team of maintenance supervisors, engineers and technicians.
- Create and implement maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and maximise plant availability.
- Drive a proactive maintenance culture through preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, improve efficiencies and optimise asset performance.
- Work collaboratively with production and operational teams to support site performance and business objectives.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, analyse trends and implement improvement plans.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement sustainable engineering solutions.
- Manage maintenance planning, engineering stores and spare parts to ensure efficient operation.
- Identify opportunities for capital investment and support the delivery of engineering projects.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with current legislation.
- Coach, mentor and develop your team, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous learning.
- Prepare performance reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership skills. You’ll have experience leading maintenance teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment and be passionate about driving operational excellence.
You’ll ideally have:
- An engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent).
- Significant experience leading maintenance teams within manufacturing.
- A proven track record of improving reliability, reducing downtime and delivering operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of preventative, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance practices.
- Experience using CMMS systems to manage maintenance activities.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people development skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
