CNC Turner / Setter /Operator

Lancashire (Commutable from St. Helens, Wigan, Warrington, Liverpool, Southport, Bolton, Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Preston)

Role Summary

A growing precision engineering specialist is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Turner / Setter to join a modern machining facility. The role will involve producing high-precision components from exotic materials for industries where quality and accuracy are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, program and operate CNC lathes
• Read, edit, and optimise FANUC programs
• Generate programs using One CNC / CAD-CAM
• Machine complex components from engineering drawings
• Work with exotic alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, Duplex, Super Duplex)
• Use fixed and travelling steadies on components up to 5 metres
• Perform dimensional inspection using standard measuring equipment
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Time-served CNC Turner (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Strong experience with FANUC programming
• Proven track record machining exotic metals
• Experience using fixed and travelling steadies
• Ability to work to tight tolerances from engineering drawings
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with One CNC or Similar CAD/CAM products
• Background in precision engineering or high-spec industries
