Role Purpose:
The Senior Surveyor provides land assembly, compensation and valuation advice for major projects. Key responsibilities include delivering strategic compensation advice, risk mitigation in land acquisition, and stakeholder engagement to secure consents, settle claims, and negotiate agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trusted Advisor: Offer specialist technical input, particularly around compensation and compulsory purchase legislation.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects, ensuring efficient and compliant resolution of claims and securing land.
- Negotiations: Conduct and lead negotiations with landowners, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate land acquisition and settle compensation claims.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain high standards of engagement and strategic advice, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Valuation Accuracy: Ensure the accurate management of valuations and Property Cost Estimates.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering their development and aligning them with Ardent’s values.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Business Development: Identify potential leads and new work opportunities to contribute to business growth.
- Safety Promotion: Advocate for safety improvements within teams, promoting a culture of safety.
- Profitability Assessment: Assess and improve the profitability of individual projects by managing costs and resources efficiently.
Skills & Experience:
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to build effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Professional Compliance: Awareness and adherence to RICS Professional Statements and other relevant guidelines.
- Project Management: Experience in managing the delivery of projects, ensuring effective and confident oversight.
- Legal Knowledge: Understanding of the legal basis of compulsory purchase compensation and its application to various compensation claims.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrable track record in leading negotiations and settling compensation claims.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of delivering informative and engaging presentations.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and mitigate risks, providing strategic solutions to complex challenges.
- Mentorship: Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Business Acumen: Ability to identify new business opportunities and enhance project profitability.
- Safety Awareness: Commitment to promoting a culture of safety within teams.
