The Opportunity
A well-established architectural practice is looking to appoint an Architectural Technologist to join its growing team in Hereford.
This is a unique opportunity to work on an exceptionally diverse portfolio of projects ranging from contemporary new-build developments through to Grade I listed buildings, heritage assets and Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The practice has built a strong reputation across the region for delivering high-quality architecture while also specialising in the conservation, repair and restoration of some of the country’s most significant historic structures.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and passionate team where no two projects are the same. Whether working on bespoke residential schemes, commercial developments, church repairs, conservation projects or heritage-led refurbishments, you’ll gain exposure to every stage of the design and delivery process.
This role would suit an Architectural Technologist who enjoys technical problem-solving, working closely with clients and consultants, and contributing to projects that genuinely make a lasting impact on the built environment.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for:
- Producing detailed technical drawing packages and construction information
- Supporting projects from planning through to construction delivery
- Working on a mixture of new-build, refurbishment and conservation schemes
- Preparing technical details, specifications and construction documentation
- Coordinating information with consultants, contractors and stakeholders
- Assisting with planning, listed building and heritage applications
- Ensuring designs comply with current Building Regulations and technical standards
- Undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections
- Supporting project delivery through RIBA work stages
- Managing project documentation and drawing revisions
- Working closely with senior architects and project teams
- Contributing technical expertise throughout the design lifecycle
About You
- Previous experience as an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician
- Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience producing technical drawing packages
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations
- Experience working on residential, commercial or heritage projects
- Knowledge of conservation or listed buildings would be advantageous
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Passion for architecture and the built environment
