Overview

We are seeking a proactive and driven Quality Planner to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality products within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a strong team player who thrives on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will play a key role in ensuring quality standards are achieved throughout the product lifecycle, from early design phases through to production, while acting as a central point of coordination between engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage structured problem-solving activities using recognised methodologies such as 5Y, Fishbone, and DMAIC to identify root causes and implement robust solutions

Define, validate, and implement corrective actions to ensure sustainable improvements to product and process quality

Own quality deliverables for assigned project content, ensuring all activities are completed in line with milestones and APQP requirements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, suppliers, manufacturing) to support product development through early concept design, hardware builds, and pre-series phases

Provide feedback and input to improve development and manufacturing processes, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied to future programmes

Monitor and report quality KPIs, driving continuous improvement across new model production processes

Identify and escalate critical risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with project objectives

Ensure application of core quality tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP) and verify compliance with international and safety standards

Interpret technical documentation (drawings, standards, inspection instructions) to define clear requirements for production and inspection processes

Support and guide quality specialists and technicians, coordinating activities to achieve project success

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Clearly communicate problems, defects, and investigation findings to internal stakeholders and management

Prepare and deliver high-quality reports and presentations on project status, quality performance, and ongoing investigations

Define and communicate test plans and inspection methods to ensure accurate data collection

Collaborate with international engineering teams to influence design decisions and implement lessons learned

Negotiate priorities with stakeholders to ensure efficient handling of quality issues and project deliverables.

About You

You are a self-motivated and reliable professional with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently. You thrive under pressure, can manage competing priorities, and are confident leading technical discussions and driving improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

HNC/D (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering

Strong experience in manufacturing operations, ideally within the automotive sector

Proven knowledge of automotive core tools: APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA,PPAP

Expertise in structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. 5Y, Fishbone, DMAIC)

Understanding of defect detection, analysis, and customer relevance

Experience with measurement tools and inspection equipment

Good knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality tools

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Advanced PC skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, SharePoint)

Fluent in English; German language skills would be advantageous

Experience leading projects, managing plans, and reporting progress
