We are currently recruiting for an Electronics Manufacturing Technician to join one of our manufacturing clients at their main site in Stonehouse. You will be responsible for the testing, fault finding, and repair of a variety of electrical and electronic systems and components.
This is a permanent full time role.
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Carry out functional testing of PWAs and electronic assemblies.
- Use job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travellers, and bills of materials.
- Maintain production tools and equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting activities to diagnose product, process, or program defects and carry out repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Identify electronic components and perform wire preparation, stripping, and crimping.
- Carry out harness repair and termination activities.
- Use relevant manual hand tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain skills in electronics, hydraulics, mechanical assemblies, automated machine operation, and programming.
- Apply the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Further education in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (e.g. ONC, HNC, HND, or NVQ Level 2).
- Proven ability to work successfully within defined design constraints.
- Experience using electronic laboratory equipment, including: Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Low Voltage Power Supplies, High Voltage Power Supplies (up to 400VDC)
- Experience carrying out testing and debugging of electromechanical assemblies.
- Good competency with electronic technician tools and general test equipment.
- Ability to produce deliverable items from full drawing packs with minimal supervision and to relevant IPC standards.
- Strong electronic technician skills, including: Testing, Low and high voltage work, Basic soldering, Crimping, Assembly, Experience with basic fault finding and rectification at both system and component level.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
