We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our team in Birkenhead, Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified graduate or early-career professional looking to develop their skills in a commercial embedded software environment.

Core Responsibilities
1. Test Development & Execution
• Development and execution of test procedures for development and production needs
• Design and implement manual and automated test cases and test suites
• Automation of legacy test cases and suites
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts
2. Bug Tracking & Reporting
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
• Reproduce, isolate, and perform root-cause analysis of reported issues
• Prepare detailed test reports and test summaries for stakeholders
• Monitor and report on test coverage and quality metrics
3. Collaboration & Process
• Work closely with software engineers and product managers
• Participate in code reviews from a testability perspective
• Collaborate in regular development meetings
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration with automated tests
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies
4. Documentation & Standards
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, test plans, test cases, and test logs
• Contribute to process improvement and definition of testing best practices

• Knowledge of C, C++ & Python programming languages
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and knowledge of batch/shell scripts
• Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD tools

• Good communication and reporting skills
