You’ll own our carbon accounting processes, identify opportunities to reduce emissions and energy consumption, support renewable energy projects, and provide clear insights that influence business decisions at every level.

Working closely with colleagues across Procurement, Operations, Technical and external partners, you’ll ensure our carbon and energy data is accurate, transparent and supports both regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
  • Collect, analyse and report carbon and energy data across our operations and supply chain.
  • Develop and implement carbon reduction strategies and identify new opportunities to improve environmental performance.
  • Support the delivery of MM Flowers’ renewable energy transition roadmap.
  • Produce high-quality reports and dashboards for customers, leadership teams and the Board.
  • Work with certification bodies and external consultants to verify emissions reporting.
  • Act as the business expert for carbon and energy, providing advice and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Support customer audits, tenders and ESG reporting requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to engage and influence people across the business.

Essential

  • Experience managing carbon accounting and emissions data, ideally within FMCG, agriculture or a complex supply chain environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
  • Experience developing carbon reduction initiatives and supporting sustainability strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with advanced Excel and experience using reporting tools such as Power BI and SQL.
  • Confident presenting insights to senior leadership and translating complex data into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within agriculture, horticulture or fresh produce.
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
  • Experience supporting renewable energy projects or energy transition programmes.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be someone who is:

  • Trusted – dependable, accountable and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Passionate – enthusiastic about sustainability and making a real difference.
  • Dynamic – proactive, adaptable and always looking for better ways of working.
  • Collaborative – able to build strong relationships and work effectively across teams and with external partners.
