Vehicle Technician – Field Evaluation Unit (FEU)

3-Month Contract | 40 Hours per Week (Monday–Friday) | Inside IR35

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading automotive brand for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their Field Evaluation Unit (FEU), supporting the development and validation of pre-production vehicles.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle programmes, carrying out diagnostics, repairs, updates, and investigations that directly contribute to successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections and prepare prototype vehicles for evaluation programmes.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults to a high standard.
• Complete vehicle updates, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Investigate issues identified during real-world testing and support root cause analysis.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Work closely with engineering and programme teams to ensure vehicles meet required standards.
• Maintain exceptional levels of quality, safety, and documentation throughout all work.

Requirements:

• Level 3 Automotive qualification or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Strong experience in electrical and mechanical vehicle diagnostics.
• Background in vehicle servicing, assembly, or rectification.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle systems is advantageous.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced technical environment with excellent attention to detail.
