Construction Manager – Glasgow

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced NEC4 Supervisor to join the team.

About the role:

As a Site-Based NEC4 Supervisor within the nuclear defence sector, you will oversee construction and engineering activities to ensure compliance with NEC4 contractual requirements, project specifications, and stringent quality standards. Working closely with contractors and project stakeholders, you will undertake inspections, monitor workmanship, and identify defects to support successful project delivery. This role requires a strong site presence and a commitment to safety, quality, and performance within a highly regulated environment.

Key Deliverables:

  • Fulfil the duties of the NEC4 Supervisor, acting in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
  • Inspect, test, and monitor works to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, quality standards, and Health & Safety obligations.
  • Identify, notify, and manage defects through to resolution, maintaining accurate site records and supporting commercial processes.
  • Review and witness testing and commissioning activities, including FAT and SAT, and assess associated documentation.
  • Manage project records, quality metrics, lessons learned, and performance reporting.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, contractor coordination, and efficient project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor contractor competence, certification, and compliance with site permit and operational requirements.
  • Provide advice to the Project Manager on contractor performance, risks, and project-related concerns.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Excellent knowledge of NEC4 contracts and an understanding of CDM and Health and Safety.
  • You will have exceptional attention to detail and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • ONC/OND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Excellent working knowledge of NEC4 contracts
  • CITB CSCS Gold card
  • Previous experience working ONR/DNR sites
  • HNC/HND or greater in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • CITB CSCS Black card
  • NEC4 Supervisor accreditation – Desirable
  • First Aid certificate
  • IOSH Managing Safely
