Senior Paralegal – Fee Earning – Private Client – Leigh
Salary up to £40,000 per annum
We are currently looking for a Fee Earning Senior Paralegal to join our client’s Private Client team based in Leigh.
This is a permanent role involving a broad range of Private Client matters, including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work and the management of elderly clients’ affairs. You will manage your own caseload and work closely with colleagues to deliver a high standard of client service while supporting the continued growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the administration of estates from start to finish
- Preparing and applying for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Completing and dealing with Inheritance Tax, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax forms and advising clients accordingly
- Collecting and realising assets, paying liabilities and preparing estate accounts
- Advising on tax mitigation and Deeds of Variation
- Taking instructions and drafting Wills, including advising on tax and estate planning matters
- Advising on and drafting Trust documentation
- Taking instructions and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and Enduring Powers of Attorney applications
- Assisting with the management of elderly clients’ financial affairs where required
- Handling Court of Protection applications and ongoing deputyship matters
- Producing accounts and complying with Court directions and orders
- Supporting business development initiatives and participating in marketing activities to help grow the Private Client department
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will bring with them/be:
- Previous experience handling a broad range of Private Client matters
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Commercially aware with an interest in business development
- Deliver excellent service to clients and colleagues
Details:
- Salary up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:15pm
- 26 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
