Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer with expertise in maintaining overhead gantry cranes within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment?
We’re working with a well-established business seeking a skilled engineer to join its maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining critical plant equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
You’ll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support and fault finding across a range of production machinery and site equipment, with a particular focus on overhead gantry cranes and associated electrical systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across plant and production equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, including overhead gantry cranes
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and fully operational
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and coordinate specialist contractors when required
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health and safety legislation and company standards
About You:
- City & Guilds Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Proven experience maintaining overhead gantry cranes (essential)
- Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, steel, heavy engineering or industrial environment
- Strong fault-finding skills with both electrical and mechanical equipment
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving and communication skills
