Founding Platform Engineer

The role

You will work directly with founders, researchers, and traders to design and run the internal platform that powers live trading and research. Your mandate is simple: build an infrastructure advantage.

What you’ll own

• Production infrastructure across multi-region cloud and latency-sensitive environments
• Reliable systems for live trading, multi-venue market data ingestion, and research compute
• Deployment pipelines that let the team ship strategy and model changes quickly and safely
• Observability across data quality, execution, strategy, and infrastructure
• Resilience: failover, disaster recovery, and operational readiness for systems that lose money when they are down
• The route from research prototype to production service, with real testing, monitoring, and maintainability
• Security architecture: IAM, networking, secrets, access control
• ML-serving infrastructure: low-latency model serving, feature pipelines, and experiment tooling for our research and ACA work

Technical depth

• Deep Linux and networking fundamentals
• Strong cloud experience, ideally AWS (compute, networking, IAM, storage, observability)
• Strong Python; C++, Rust, or Go for latency-critical paths is a plus
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent)
• CI/CD and release engineering
• Data systems: PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB, Kafka, Redis, ClickHouse, and low-latency messaging
• Monitoring: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or similar
• Security-first mindset
• Bonus: MLOps experience (model serving, feature stores, low-latency inference)
