We are seeking an experienced Operational Transformation Consultant to lead the review, redesign and implementation of a global operating model across our UK and US medical communications agencies.

Our global medical communications Global organisation, delivering strategic healthcare communications for leading pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. We are looking for an accomplished transformation specialist with a proven track record of delivering operational excellence within professional services, agency, healthcare communications, medical communications or outsourced research services to pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences environments.

This is a hands-on strategic engagement to assess our current end-to-end delivery operations, identify inefficiencies, and design and implement a scalable operating model that improves resource management, commercial performance, project visibility, governance and operational efficiency across both regions. The successful consultant will conduct a comprehensive audit of our operational processes, systems and reporting frameworks before designing standardised global processes, governance structures and accountability frameworks, recommending technology and workflow improvements, and leading implementation through to adoption and optimisation. Whether a common platform or region-specific solutions are required will form part of the assessment.

The programme will be delivered using an agile methodology, working in two-week sprints with regular leadership reviews. You will work closely with Executive Leadership, Operations, Finance and Delivery teams, leading stakeholder engagement, change management and implementation while establishing sustainable governance, reporting and continuous improvement practices.

We are looking for a senior independent consultant, boutique consultancy or former COO/Operations Director with significant experience delivering operational transformation across multi-disciplinary professional services businesses. You will bring deep expertise in resource management, operational governance, utilisation and profitability, commercial performance, and global operating model design, together with the ability to move seamlessly from strategic assessment to practical implementation and lasting organisational change.

Success will be measured through improved resource visibility and forecasting accuracy, increased utilisation and profitability, greater transparency of project and financial performance, standardised global delivery processes, enhanced operational scalability, and the successful embedding of governance and reporting frameworks across both agencies.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering measurable operational transformation outcomes. References supporting previous transformation programmes will be required as part of the selection process.
