Advance Histopathology Laboratory (AHLab) is a UKAS-accredited (ISO 15189) independent diagnostic laboratory delivering consultant-led histopathology services to private hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers throughout the UK.
Following significant growth, implementation of a new Laboratory Information System (NovoPath360), and expansion of our service portfolio, we are seeking an exceptional Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our leadership team.
The Opportunity
Depending on your experience and interests, you will take a lead role within either:
- Histopathology Dissection Services
- Main Laboratory Operations
- Workforce & Facility Development
This flexibility allows us to appoint the right individual and develop the role around their strengths.
Your Role
- Providing technical leadership within a UKAS-accredited histopathology laboratory
- Supporting and developing a highly skilled laboratory workforce
- Driving service quality, efficiency and turnaround times
- Working closely with Consultant Histopathologists and senior management
- Leading audits, investigations, validation and continuous improvement activities
- Supporting implementation of new technologies and initiatives
- Contributing to strategic laboratory development and growth
Your Role
Essential
- HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist
- IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology
- Histopathology dissection and specimen cut-up
- Strong understanding of ISO 15189 and quality management systems
- Demonstrable leadership, supervisory or mentoring experience
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement
