Job Description:

Mid/Senior Designer

London | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE | Hybrid Working | Annual Bonus

Some design roles give you a project to deliver.

This one gives you a business to help build.

Our client is a boutique workplace furniture consultancy that has achieved something most businesses spend years trying to accomplish. In its first year alone, the business generated over £11 million in revenue, secured some of the most prestigious commercial workplace projects in the UK and established itself as a trusted partner to leading clients, architects and design teams.

Now they are looking for the next key hire.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a screen producing drawings all day.

Nor is it a role for someone who needs constant direction and supervision.

Instead, this opportunity is suited to a commercially minded designer who enjoys being in front of clients, thrives on responsibility and wants to play a genuine role in shaping the future of a growing consultancy.

You will work directly alongside the Director, supporting major workplace furniture projects from initial concept through to installation. One day, you could be presenting innovative workplace solutions to a client team. Next, you could be developing specifications, producing layouts, coordinating technical information or solving a complex project challenge.

The environment is entrepreneurial, fast-moving and highly collaborative. Everyone contributes. Everyone gets involved. There is no hierarchy between strategic thinking and practical delivery.

The successful candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves when required and equally confident sitting across the table from senior stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

• Advising clients, architects and design teams on workplace furniture solutions

• Developing furniture specifications and presentation material

• Space planning and workplace design

• Producing technical drawings and installation information

• Presenting concepts and recommendations to clients

• Supporting tender submissions and project delivery

• Researching manufacturers, products and emerging workplace trends

• Managing multiple projects simultaneously across varying scales

• Contributing ideas that help shape the future direction of the business

What we’re looking for:

• Experience within the commercial workplace furniture sector

• Strong understanding of the UK furniture manufacturer market

• Ability to confidently advise clients on products, suppliers and workplace solutions

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision

• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability

• Passion for design, furniture and workplace environments

• Someone ambitious, proactive and excited by growth

• Experience using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of building something.

The business is backed by a highly successful parent group with over £120 million turnover, providing the stability, resources and support of an established organisation whilst retaining the energy, autonomy and opportunity of a startup.

If you’re looking for a role where your ideas will be heard, your contribution will be visible, and your impact will genuinely matter, we’d love to hear from you.
