I am currently partnering with a growing well established communications organisation to appoint a Senior/ Principal Medical Writer to join their scientific team. These opportunities are suitable for both someone who is established and someone who is looking to progress to that next step!
The role
You’ll take ownership of the development and delivery of high-quality scientific content across a range of projects and therapy areas, working closely with client services and senior scientific colleagues.
The position offers strong exposure to Medical Affairs and Medical Communications programmes, with a particular focus on oncology (including rare and haematological oncology).
Key responsibilities
- Lead the scientific delivery of assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Develop high-quality materials for a variety of healthcare professional and stakeholder audiences.
- Adapt writing style and scientific messaging for different target groups and channels.
- Maintain excellent standards of scientific accuracy, grammar, consistency and attention to detail.
- Collaborate closely with client services teams and senior stakeholders.
- Share therapeutic-area knowledge and best practice with the wider writing team.
- Mentor junior writers and contribute to the development of the scientific team over time.
What we’re looking for
- Experience within a medical communications agency
- Strong scientific writing skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Experience across expert engagement programmes, congress activity and digital projects/websites.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Publications experience is advantageous but not essential.
Additional experience that would be beneficial
- Identifying opportunities for organic account growth.
- Supporting proposals, pitches or new business activity.
- Line management or mentoring experience.
