Estates & Asset Assistant Director

The Role

This isn’t just about managing buildings; it’s about strategic impact. As a key advisor to the Director for Commercial & Assets and Elected Members, you will:

• Drive Value: Identify opportunities to maximise the value of Council assets for the benefit of the community
• Lead Change: Be at the heart of our organisational effectiveness agenda, translating high-level strategy into real-world delivery
• Inspire Teams: Nurture a high-performing culture, mentoring staff and managing a significant service budget
• Shape Strategy: Lead the preparation of the Strategic Asset Management Plan and handle high-stakes acquisitions and disposals

Key skills/experience required

We are looking for an naturally collaborative leader who is commercially astute.

• Expertise: A degree-level education and RICS (or equivalent) qualification
• Experience: A proven track record of senior management in complex, political environments
• Innovation: The ability to implement digital technologies and creative solutions to meet resident needs
