Role Overview
The Senior Financial Governance Manager is responsible for delivering effective, high‑quality governance support within the Finance and Strategic Sourcing Directorate. The role will ensure continued compliance with the financial governance framework and support the ongoing development of financial operations, policies and controls to meet statutory, regulatory and internal standards. This includes monitoring and developing risk management processes, incorporating policies, procedures and internal controls to support sound decision making.
The role is the central contact point for financial governance, acting as the first line of defence while liaising closely with the risk team (second line of defence) and with internal and external auditors. The Senior Manager reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Governance within the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective, high‑quality governance support within the Finance and Strategic Sourcing Directorate.
- Ensure compliance with the financial governance framework and support the ongoing development of financial operations, policies and controls.
- Monitor and develop risk management processes.
- Incorporate policies, procedures and internal controls to support sound decision making.
- Act as the central contact point for financial governance, serving as the first line of defence and liaising with the risk team and auditors.
