Lead Programmer d3t – 12 Month Contract

About the Studio

d3t is a video game technology studio, part of the Keywords Studios Group, delivering co‑development services to leading AAA clients across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to meet goals, motivating, encouraging positivity, enthusiasm, and leading by example while practicing active listening.
• Line‑manage engineers to foster career progression and help them reach their full potential.
• Set high standards of communication, collaboration and coding skills, and enforce them across the team and direct reports.
• Act as the main engineering point of contact for international clients on projects.
• Work as part of mixed‑discipline teams to deliver features on time.
• Plan technical work and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Engage in a variety of projects and programming specialisms, including gameplay, core technology, porting, and low‑level architecture on multiple platforms.
• Keep current with industry trends and best practices.

Essential Requirements

• 7+ years of experience.
• C++ expertise.
• Leadership experience: has led and managed engineers.
• Dependability: works autonomously, flexibly, proactively and positively.
• Knowledge of low‑level systems (physics, networking, memory, animation, etc.).
• Experience with game engines, IDEs, source control and build infrastructure.
• Commitment to continual learning and skill development.
• Strong communication skills: able to clearly discuss road maps, updates, risks and solutions with multiple disciplines, including non‑technical developers and clients.

• Experience with multiple programming languages and engines.
• Release experience on commercial games.
• Porting games to new platforms.
• Tools development.
• Rendering experience.
• Build and infrastructure expertise.
• Low‑level console development.
