Senior DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at NorthropGrummanUK, you will design, develop, and maintain the critical infrastructure that powers our services. You’ll work on a variety of exciting projects and complex challenges, delivering core capabilities that have real‑world impact. You will lead technical initiatives, guide engineers, and support customer and programme requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on development and actively contribute to the code base, including undertaking peer reviews.
• Design engineering features that support delivery of the product roadmap and clearly articulate design decisions.
• Break down large pieces of work into well‑defined tasks aligned with Agile delivery.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, taking ownership of build and deployment processes.
• Demonstrate development progress to internal and external customers through clear, confident presentations.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer with strong skills in CI/CD, containerisation, deployment technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, IaC, Docker, AWS).
• Experience in Linux system administration or similar operating systems.
• Understanding of database technologies, such as SQL, Elasticsearch or MongoDB.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem‑solving skills, ideally gained in an agile environment.
• Curiosity, potential and a willingness to learn.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of our work, you must be British National and currently hold the Highest Level of UK Government security clearance.
