Job Description
The New Data Backend team works with internal components and services that feed the core functionality of the Nexthink product. The team builds and owns components that integrate data from endpoint devices and make it available to other product services for further analysis. It embraces DevOps, CI/CD, automation, code quality, and a cloud‑native SaaS platform using modern technologies.
Responsibilities
- Work with existing data pipelines, enriching them and adding value for customers.
- Identify ways to improve current pipelines, from small changes to full redesigns.
- Design, implement, validate and deliver cloud‑native microservices for a highly scalable platform.
- Help build the next generation of the Data Platform and support the transition to a cloud‑only company.
- Participate in all stages of software development and collaborate with different teams from ideation to delivery.
- Maintain high code‑quality standards and improve best practices.
- Work in an agile, iterative mindset.
- Be open to learning new technologies and languages when needed.
- Drive complex projects with minimal oversight, delivering features iteratively.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong experience with scalable architecture: microservices, APIs (REST, gRPC), container deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio) and messaging architectures (Kafka, Kafka streams).
- Passion for building resilient, secure and scalable services.
- Experience with public cloud providers, preferably AWS.
- Solid knowledge of core Java (other languages a plus), and multithreading.
- Experience with Spring or Micronaut.
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres, ClickHouse) and data stores.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Git, Terraform.
- Experience in Agile, good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to take ownership, work with specifications, collaborate with Product Managers, and seek information when needed.
