Do you have experience as an Infrastructure Engineer in Retail Banking, Betting, or E-Commerce organisations, where there are a very high volume of customers online?
WeareworkingincollaborationtosourceInfrastructureEngineers(severalposts)foraFinancialServicesclientwhohasofficesinEdinburghandLondon.Asforworkformat,it’s6dayspermonth contractually,butitwillbe1dayaweek,whichisalwaysaThursday.Thereisanon-callelementtothis,onceevery6-8weeks,andtheywillbepaid.Salariesvaryaccordingtolocation.
ThisisapivotalroleintheorganisationthatwillinvolvebuildingsolutionsfortheirPlatformhostedinapubliccloud(AWS)environment.Youwillcollaboratewithstakeholderstodevelopproductroadmaps,provideoperationalsupportforpatternorproduct-relatedissuesandworkwithkeyvendors.ThisrolecoverstheplatformforMortgages,Loans,CC,Overdraftsandnewnext-genwork
Yoursolutionswilluseautomationtobuildreliablesolutions,andcomplywithsecurity,resilience,sustainability,andoperationalrequirements
Additionally, you’ll:
- Takealeadrolewithinateamtodesignandengineerintuitive,self-serviceinfrastructureproducts
- Developtechnicalskillsthroughcontinuouslearninganddevelopment
- Contributetothedeliveryofinfrastructureascodesolutions
- Buildanawarenessofdesignthinkingtoolsandtechniqueswithusersinordertoimproveyourproduct
- Provideoperationalsupportforpatternorproduct-relatedissues
- Workwithkeyvendorsinthedeliveryoftheinfrastructureservicesandtechnologyfortheproduct
Theskillsyou’llneed
- Tothriveinthisrole,you’llhaveexperienceinInfrastructureasCode,suchasTerraform,andautomationscripting,suchasPythonorShell,withanunderstandingofthesoftwaredevelopmentlifecycle.
- We’llexpectyoutobringagoodunderstandingofAgileworkingpracticesandtoolsetswiththeabilitytocreatethevisionfortheReleaseTrain,featureteam,platformanddomain.
- Min5yearsrealistically.Buttheymustbeabletotalkthroughfailuresandknowwhattodoiffailuresoccur.
- Whatisyourexperience?Isitarchitecture,design,build,ordeployment?Itwillallbetested
- Youcancomefromanysectorandanysizecompany,allcomesdowntotheirpersonalinvolvementinprojects.
- Musthavegoodcomms

- AWS;S3,WAF,EC2,LoadBalancing,CloudFront(anymixofthese)
- Kubernetesisessential–youmustbebattlehardenedfromitsuse, havingtakingitemsthroughtoproduction.
- HelmandTerraform arealsoessential.
- KnowledgeandexperienceinAWShostingandservices
- DemonstratableCI/CDexperience, preferablyusingGitlab
- ExperiencewithTerraform,DockerandKubernetes
- ExperiencewithobservabilitytoolingsuchasGrafanaLoki,Tempo,MimirandPrometheus
