Responsibilities
- Performs regular and simple maintenance and infrastructure support activities needed in a manufacturing plant.
- Assists in routine maintenance, construction and installation, and equipment validation work.
- Plans routine maintenance with Equipment SME’s and OEM’s Contractor Management.
- Ensures safe working practices, PTW and LOTO.
- Manages annual service level agreement renewal and responsibilities.
- Monitors and maintains parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services.
- Manages Plant Indirect Inventory, maintains systems, stock accuracy and max‑min levels to ensure parts are readily available.
- Conducts indirect inventory compliance auditing.
- Serves as first line of support for building service problems and maintenance work requests.
- Assists facility engineers and supports manufacturing, maintenance and other related departments.
- Undertakes capital project management – builds the business case from justification through execution.
- Understands PUWER, LOLER, LOTO, hot work, red tag, COSHH.
- Procures new parts and reconditioned service repair equipment.
- Has knowledge of maintenance requirements of heat‑treatment equipment.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience desired.
- Accuracy and attention to detail: ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Decision making and critical thinking: knowledge of decision‑making processes and tools; ability to analyze situations and make productive decisions.
- Problem solving: knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.
- Project management: knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor and control projects.
- Relationship management: knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers.
- Service excellence: knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service.
- Plant facilities management: knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting technical problems: knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of maintenance requirements of heat‑treatment equipment.
- NEBOSH/IOSH certification.
- Knowledge of PUWER/LOLER/CORGI/IEE/CDM regulations and other applicable legislation.
- Experience working within installation and maintenance functions, responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of large or multiple facility processes.
- Monitors processes and procedures for developing and maintaining building security to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives (fault analysis).
- Excellent PC, presentation and communication skills.
