Full‑TimeAbout the Role Pareto FM is seeking an experienced and customer‑focused Lead Electrical Engineer to join a prestigious site‑based contract in London.This is a senior engineering position responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical building systems, and supporting the ongoing operation of a technologically advanced workplace environment.The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach. This role is approximately 50% hands‑on and 50% supervisory, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical delivery and team leadership.A company electric van will be provided for site duties, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
The Role As Lead Electrical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of electrical maintenance activities across the site, ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational excellence.You’ll provide technical leadership, oversee high‑voltage systems where applicable, support smart building operations, and act as a trusted point of contact for both the client and wider Pareto FM teams.This role would suit an experienced engineer who is comfortable working within a customer‑facing environment and has experience supporting complex commercial buildings.
What You’ll Be Doing Electrical Maintenance & Compliance Leading and coordinating planned and reactive electrical maintenance activitiesEnsuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operationalDeveloping and managing preventative Maintenance schedulesTroubleshooting faults and providing effective technical solutionsMonitoring electrical performance and identifying opportunities for improvementMaintaining accurate maintenance records and compliance documentationEnsuring all statutory inspections and testing are completed in line with regulationsTechnical Leadership Providing technical guidance and support across the siteSupporting fault diagnosis and problem resolution for complex issuesReviewing maintenance strategies and recommending improvementsWorking closely with the wider Pareto FM Central Technical TeamEnsuring engineering standards and best practices are consistently maintainedTeam Leadership Managing and supporting an on‑site Engineer and Fabric TechnicianAllocating workloads and monitoring performanceMentoring and developing team membersPromoting a strong safety culture and high standards of service deliverySupporting training and professional development activitiesClient & Stakeholder Engagement Acting as a professional and customer‑focused representative of Pareto FMBuilding strong relationships with client stakeholdersProviding technical advice and support on building services mattersSupporting operational meetings and service reviewsMaintaining clear and professional communication at all levelsReporting & Continuous Improvement Producing maintenance and performance reportsMonitoring KPIs, compliance requirements, and system performanceIdentifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and service deliveryKeeping up to date with industry developments, legislation, and emerging technologiesTeam & Support Structure Managing an on‑site Engineer and Fabric TechnicianSupported by Pareto FM’s Central Technical TeamWorking closely with Contract Management and wider operational teamsAccess to technical expertise and specialist engineering support across the wider Pareto GroupWorking Hours & Call‑Out Full‑time site‑based positionNo call‑out rota requirementOpportunity to focus on proactive maintenance and operational excellence without regular out‑of‑hours commitments
What We’re Looking For Essential Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, HND or equivalent)18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)Strong experience within electrical maintenance and building services environmentsPrevious supervisory or leadership experienceExcellent fault‑finding and diagnostic skillsStrong understanding of UK electrical regulations and compliance requirementsStrong customer service and stakeholder management skillsComfortable working with modern building technologies and systemsFull UK driving licenceHighly Desirable City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & TestingHigh Voltage (HV) Authorised Person / Senior Authorised Person (SAP)Experience within commercial office or critical building environmentsExperience supporting smart building technologies and integrated building systemsAdditional Advantage IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualificationExperience within Facilities Management environmentsKnowledge of BMS systems and building automation platformsAbout You You’ll be a technically strong and highly professional engineer who enjoys taking ownership and leading by example.You’ll be equally comfortable carrying out hands‑on engineering tasks, mentoring colleagues, and engaging with clients and stakeholders.
