Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic consultants of all levels to support our Intelligent Infrastructure (II) capabilities. You will work on high‑quality consultancy projects, analyse information, communicate findings, and collaborate with clients or partners to advance sustainable and safe operations for public and private sector clients.
Technical Areas
- Operational safety – help clients understand and mitigate safety risks in designs, operations and technologies.
- Transport network operations – support the development and assessment of operational models, concepts, and associated standards and procedures.
- Human centred design – apply evidence‑based principles of human factors, ergonomics and behavioural science to design environments, systems, products and services.
- Strategy development – advise clients on creating sustainable, resilient, people‑focused strategies using business cases and innovation techniques.
- Policy monitoring and evaluation – provide specialist monitoring and evaluation in line with Treasury requirements, designing and executing monitoring frameworks.
- Tunnel systems & operations – support clients in the design, operation and management of tunnels in the highway and utility sectors.
Responsibilities
Contribute to technical activities across the six areas, including:
- Assisting in the delivery of consultancy‑style projects aligned with the specified technical areas.
- Analysing and interpreting information from various sources.
- Communicating findings effectively to clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborating with team members and clients in a client, consultant, or contractor role.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical background with a degree or equivalent higher‑education qualification in one of the six technical areas.
- Experience working on consultancy‑style projects within the technical areas.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret information and communicate results clearly.
- Experience as a client, consultant, or contractor, ideally within transport, public sector, or high‑risk environments.
