Role Overview
Heritage Security & Site Operations Officer – part‑time (20.75 hours per week) at Lincolnshire Archives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular indoor and outdoor patrols of the archives and other heritage sites as required.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally.
- Monitor and manage access to restricted areas; supervise contractors.
- Assist visitors with directions and maintain a welcoming, safe environment.
- Perform essential site operations: compliance checks, key holding, basic maintenance.
- Work within a rota: Monday‑Friday 13.30‑17.30 and one alternate Saturday per month; overtime cover available.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Age 18+ with legal right to work in the UK.
- Professional and flexible; able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of a call‑out rota.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer‑focused.
- Physically fit, with ability to walk and respond quickly to incidents.
- Security‑experienced: SIA licence or willingness to train; understanding of safety protocols.
- Willingness to undertake First Aid and SIA training if not already qualified.
- Calm under pressure; able to make sound decisions quickly.
- Commitment to the highest standards of safety, security and visitor care.
- Fluency in accurate spoken English is essential (Fluency Duty).
