Assistant Engineering ManagerLocation: LeicesterWe are looking for an experienced and ambitious Assistant Engineering Manager to join the Arriva Leicester team.In this key leadership role, you will support the Garage Engineering Manager in running a safe, efficient, and high-performing workshop. Duties include, but are not limited to:Acting as the designated on-site lead for depot security, health & safety, and safe working practicesSupporting the Engineering Manager by working to the Leader Standard Work and carrying out additional tasks as requiredLeading and supervising workshop teams to ensure the safe and efficient servicing, maintenance, repair, overhaul, and cleaning of vehicles and componentsPlanning, allocating, and balancing workload to ensure work is delivered at the right time and to specificationLiaising with Working Chargehands to maintain on-road engineering performance within agreed targets, ensuring clear communication and accurate data captureEnsuring full compliance with health & safety legislation, quality procedures, and environmental systemsAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you’ll bring:A strong engineering background with proven experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy vehicles, equipment, or machineryIdeally, experience within the bus or HGV industryA recognized engineering apprenticeship or vocational qualification (mechanical, electrical, or similar), or qualification to degree/diploma level in engineering or vehicle maintenanceStrong knowledge of Health & Safety, leading by example (IOSH desirable)The ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, creating a safe, positive, and high-performing working environment#J-18808-Ljbffr…
