The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Vehicle Development team. This is a rare opportunity to work on bespoke motorsport and high-end automotive components, taking projects from concept through to testing and integration. You’ll own the lifecycle of major vehicle systems, applying first-principles engineering and cutting-edge tools to deliver world-class performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design process for major vehicle systems, from concept through prototyping, detailed design, analysis, production, and testing.
Design and develop components for vehicle sub-systems including suspension, body-in-white, powertrain, aerodynamics, and ancillaries.
Create robust, high-quality CAD models using best practices.
Perform structural analysis of critical load-bearing components using FEA tools, supported by hand calculations and physical testing.
Produce and peer-review outputs including technical drawings, requirements, diagrams, procedures and manuals to the highest standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead design reviews to ensure compliance with requirements.
Develop test equipment and procedures for validation of mechanical systems.
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-performance environment (motorsport, high-end automotive, or aerospace).
Advanced proficiency in CAD and PLM software (Siemens NX / Teamcenter preferred).
Experience with structural analysis and FEM simulation (Altair Hyperworks preferred).
Skilled in producing and reviewing technical drawings (GD&T experience ideal).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, composites, and additive manufacturing.
Detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to thrive under pressure.
Strategic thinker with proven ability to make complex decisions.
