Applications & Design Engineer
The Opportunity
Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with an innovative engineering business looking to appoint an Applications & Design Engineer during an exciting period of growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on bespoke engineered solutions for customers across defence, critical infrastructure and heavy industry. You’ll combine technical design, applications engineering and customer engagement, taking projects from initial concept through to technical proposal. If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and want to work on varied, high-value projects, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop bespoke mechanical and hydraulic system solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Produce technical proposals, concept designs and engineering documentation.
- Carry out system sizing, calculations and component selection.
- Support technical quotations, tenders and customer presentations.
- Work closely with Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support from concept through to commissioning.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and design standards.
About You:
- Experience in Applications Engineering, Design Engineering or Systems Engineering.
- A Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic or mechatronic systems.
- CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with customers.
- A proactive, commercially aware approach and a passion for delivering innovative engineering solutions.
