UK Sales Representative – Medical Devices – Midlands
(location will expand across wider parts of the UK as the business grows)
For 35 years’, our client has specialised in the distribution of medical and maternal rental equipment across Australia and New Zealand, providing affordable and effective hospital and at-home management of orthopedic and vascular health conditions.
Their wide product range focuses on easier management of their customers ongoing health conditions, as well as preventative solutions to optimise healthy lifestyles in lymphatic, compression, cryotherapy, wound care and rehabilitation.
The Role
Through acquisition of a newly acquired medical device rental business here in the UK, they are seeking a seasoned sales professional, experienced in the medical device space to drive the initial sales effort for their UK flagship, growing revenue and increasing market penetration.
This is an exciting opportunity to join at the beginning of a significant growth journey, working closely with the owner to establish our UK sales operation and develop long-term relationships within the UK healthcare sector.
The successful candidate will inherit an established customer base, warm leads and a portfolio of market-leading rehabilitation products to drive into the UK markets, shaping the future of the UK business and harness an opportunity to support the injection of an additional salesperson from 6 months and develop into a key leadership role within the company as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow revenue across the UK, initially focusing on the Midlands.
- Re-engage existing customers and introduce them to an expanded portfolio of rehabilitation and medical rental solutions.
- Build new relationships with hospitals, NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, sports medicine clinics and rehabilitation specialists.
- Promote a range of specialist products including:
- Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) devices
- Cryotherapy systems
- Bone Growth Stimulators
- Compression therapy products
- Lymphoedema management solutions
- Work closely with clinicians, procurement teams, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and key opinion leaders.
- Convert warm leads and referral opportunities while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Manage your sales territory independently, planning customer visits and prioritising opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records.
- Support the development of future sales processes and help onboard additional sales team members as the business expands.
Person Specification
- Relationship-based sales experience in medical devices or healthcare equipment into hospitals or similar environments
- Clinical background or training in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or similar
- Familiarity with the UK rehabilitation equipment market, particularly CPM’s
- Understanding of NHS and healthcare procurement processes
- Competent covering a large geographical region, initially the Midlands but will be national whilst the team is grown
- Self-starter and established sales professional, able to develop warm leads and generate their own new business
- Able to proactively drive sales without continual managerial oversight and guidance
- Willing to go beyond core sales responsibilities to support the broader business during its growth phase
- Comfortable and able to work in an environment that will initially lack structure. Use initiative to become a creator of new process and structure during this time
