Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hampshire, UK

Shift: 4 On / 4 Off (Only-Days) | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract: 12 Months | Inside IR35

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

We’re looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting production operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern manufacturing environment where you’ll play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
  • Take ownership of production lines and equipment using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement, process optimisation and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prioritise maintenance activities effectively within a busy production environment.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and engineering best practice.
  • Provide shift and absence cover when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment such as FMCG, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or similar industries.
  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
  • Strong multi-skilled maintenance experience across both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of HMI panels and electrical competencies would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as within a collaborative engineering team.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
