£100,000 – £160,000 per annum plus bonus

We are partnering with a complex manufacturing business to appoint a Group Head of Engineering. This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and delivering the engineering across a complex, multi-site operation.

You will operate as a key member of the senior team, shaping how engineering contributes to long-term business success while elevating standards across people, processes, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall direction of engineering to support business growth, scalability, and operational resilience
• Align engineering priorities with wider commercial objectives, ensuring the function adds measurable value
• Introduce more effective, data-led approaches to maintenance, reliability, and performance monitoring
• Own and prioritise the capital investment agenda, ensuring projects deliver clear business benefits
• Lead major upgrade and transformation initiatives, including automation and site development
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering team, establishing clear standards, accountability, and ways of working
• Work cross-functionally to maintain high standards of product quality and operational integrity
• Develop strong, value-driven relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external partners
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, modernise systems, and reduce waste

Requirements

• Ability to operate at a strategic level while maintaining oversight of day-to-day performance
• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within a complex manufacturing environment
• Strong track record of improving reliability, efficiency, and overall operational outcomes
• Experience leading investment programmes, capital projects, or business transformation initiatives
• Commercially aware, with the ability to balance cost, performance, and long-term value
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a mindset geared towards continuous improvement
