Trainee Financial Adviser (Established Client Bank)

Northampton

£50,000-£55,000 + Review Bonus + Existing Clients

Ready to move from Paraplanning into Advice?

If you’ve spent the last few years writing suitability reports, building financial plans and supporting advisers behind the scenes, you’ve probably wondered when you’ll get the opportunity to advise clients yourself.

This role has been created for exactly that person.

We’re working with a well-established wealth management firm in Northampton looking to appoint a Financial Adviser to inherit an existing portfolio of clients and conduct ongoing annual reviews – not win new business (future opportunities to build the book if you want)

You’ll receive full support from an experienced Lead Adviser while building confidence in front of clients, making this an ideal first advisory position for an experienced paraplanner.

Equally, if you’re already advising clients but would prefer to focus on servicing an existing client bank rather than continual business development, we’d also like to hear from you.

What you’ll inherit

  • An established client bank of approximately £7.5m FUM
  • Around 100 client reviews each year
  • Existing recurring income
  • Full paraplanning and administrative support
  • Structured handover and ongoing mentoring

The role

Your focus will be on delivering ongoing financial planning advice across pensions, investments and protection, building trusted relationships with existing clients and ensuring they continue to receive an excellent level of service.

This isn’t a cold-calling or self-generation role. The client relationships already exist – your role is to nurture them and provide quality financial advice.

About you

You’ll ideally be:

  • An experienced Paraplanner ready for your first advisory opportunity; or
  • A Junior Financial Adviser looking for an established client bank; or
  • An experienced Adviser who enjoys servicing existing clients more than chasing new business.

You’ll also have:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS or equivalent)
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions and investments
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build long-term client relationships
  • A client-first approach to financial planning

An SPS is advantageous but not essential for those moving from paraplanning into advice.

Package

  • £50,000-£55,000 basic salary
  • £50 per completed annual review
  • Existing client portfolio
  • Hybrid working (4 office / 1 home)
  • Genuine long-term career development
  • Collaborative, supportive team environment

Why consider this role?

Opportunity to step into advising without the expectation of generating your own clients.

If you’ve built your technical knowledge in paraplanning and you’re ready to take the next step, this offers the chance to develop as an adviser with an established client bank already in place.
