Large Multi-Phase Traditional Build | High-Profile Development | Defined Phase Leadership

My client, a leading national housebuilder, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for a full build phase within the large-scale in Abbots Langley

This role is ideal for a strong Site Manager who wants ownership of a phase from groundworks through to handover, with clear progression opportunities as the wider development continues.

The Role – Lead a Full Phase

You will oversee the delivery of one of the site’s core phases, taking responsibility for the full build cycle, day-to-day site operations, and ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a designated phase within the multi-phase development

• Manage all on-site activity from groundwork through to plot completions and handovers

• Lead subcontractors, suppliers and operatives to achieve programme milestones

• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and environmental compliance

• Ensure all homes are delivered to specification, quality benchmarks and build programmes

• Drive daily productivity, sequencing and resource planning across your phase

• Track progress, produce accurate site records, and report updates to senior management

• Manage prelims, labour, materials, and plant to ensure efficient delivery

• Conduct inspections at all build stages — pre-plaster, pre-handover, NHBC/warranty checks

• Drive snag-free delivery and support customer satisfaction across all plots

• Work collaboratively with the wider site team as phases interface

• Represent the developer professionally to customers, inspectors and stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on traditional-build residential schemes

• Strong understanding of multi-phase delivery and sequencing

• Excellent coordination, leadership and organisational skills

• CSCS, First Aid, SMSTS (or equivalent)

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service

• Ability to manage a busy phase independently while supporting the wider project team
