About the Role

We are recruiting a friendly and organised Receptionist to join a busy and supportive GP Practice in Brighton.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a patient-facing environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service within primary care.

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while providing a welcoming and professional experience for all visitors and callers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner

Manage incoming calls and respond to patient enquiries efficiently

Book, amend, and cancel appointments using the clinical system

Process repeat prescription requests and incoming correspondence

Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic details

Support administrative duties including scanning, filing, and document management

Liaise with GPs, clinicians, and the wider practice team

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with NHS information governance standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous reception or customer service experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational and IT skills

Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment

Team player with a positive and patient-focused approach

Desirable

  • Previous GP surgery or NHS experience

Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne, or similar clinical systems

Understanding of NHS appointment processes and medical terminology
