Your New Role

The Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and asset reliability activities across the manufacturing facility. The role ensures the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of production equipment, facilities and infrastructure while driving continuous improvement, minimising downtime and supporting the achievement of operational and business objectives. You will lead a skilled maintenance team, develop long-term asset strategies and work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to deliver world-class manufacturing performance.

Whilst working your key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, continuous improvement and employee engagement * Plan, prioritise, and coordinate all maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility to ensure maximum equipment availability and minimal disruption to production schedules * Develop and implement the site’s maintenance strategy, annual maintenance plans and asset management programmes aligned with business objectives * Drive equipment reliability and plant performance by reducing downtime, improving asset utilisation and eliminating recurring equipment failures through root cause analysis * Optimise preventative and predictive maintenance programmes to improve operational efficiency, extend asset life, and reduce maintenance costs.

Manage maintenance budgets, capital expenditure projects, spare parts inventory and external contractor performance to ensure cost-effective service delivery * Lead the planning and execution of plant shutdowns, coordinating resources, contractors, and production teams to achieve safe and efficient outcomes * Monitor and report on KPIs, including downtime, Mean Time Between Failures, Mean Time To Repair, maintenance compliance and OEE * Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations through Lean, 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and reliability-centred maintenance practices * Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support operational targets, product quality, and customer delivery requirements.

Identify and implement opportunities for equipment upgrades, automation, energy efficiency improvements, and process optimisation * Ensure critical manufacturing assets, including welding equipment, fabrication machinery, CNC equipment, paint plant systems, material handling equipment, compressed air systems and facility infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards * Champion maintenance excellence through audits, benchmarking, best practice implementation and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving world-class manufacturing performance.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following essential skills, experience and qualifications.

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment * Proven experience leading and developing maintenance teams * Experience managing preventative and reactive maintenance programmes * Demonstrable track record of improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvement * Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors and shutdown activities * Experience overseeing facilities, utilities and site infrastructure.

Qualifications / Education

HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.

Competencies / Skills

Strong leadership and people management skills * Excellent planning, organisation, and prioritisation abilities * Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment * Effective communication and stakeholder management skills * Proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.

What You’ll Get In Return

For working an attractive days only pattern across 40 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 16:00 + Friday 07:00 – 13:00) you will earn a highly competitive salary of £60000.
