This role’s mission is to carry out maintenance work on equipment and facilities, in particular with regard to the assembly, calibration, upkeep and repair of electronic systems, industrial automation and measurement and control equipment, in order to contribute to the operational efficiency, sustainability and reliability of all electrical, electronic and automation equipment on the production lines.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, load cells etc.;
• Monitor control room alarms to ensure reliability of monitoring systems – includes working with robotic equipment, pneumatics, sensors, barcode reading equipment etc.;
• Ensure equipment’s operates safely;
• Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations and company safety procedures;
• Use formal defect reporting systems and promptly report accidents or near-miss incidents.
Qualifications
• NVQ Level 3 in Electromechanical Engineering;
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and/or City & Guilds 2365;
• BTEC Level 3, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering;
• Valid Safety Passport (CCNSG);
• Strong electrical/automation fault-finding skills and experience with PLC-controlled systems (e.g. Siemens);
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage unforeseen situations;
• High attention to detail and ability to work to strict quality and deadline requirements.
