An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to join one of Europe’s leading premium health and wellness organisations. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine operational leadership, facilities management and health & safety expertise within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

As a key member of the club’s leadership team, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the club operates safely, efficiently and in full compliance with all relevant legislation while delivering an outstanding experience for members and colleagues.

The Opportunity

As Health & Safety Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of health, safety, compliance and facilities management across the club.

You’ll regularly act as Duty Manager, leading daily operations, managing contractors and supporting your team to deliver the highest operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all health, safety and compliance activities across the club
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies
  • Regularly act as Duty Manager, overseeing the smooth day-to-day operation of the club
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all club facilities
  • Lead, coach and develop operational team members
  • Manage external contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Conduct health and safety audits, inspections and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents and implement preventative actions where required
  • Deliver health and safety training and promote a positive safety culture throughout the club
  • Continuously review operational processes to improve efficiency, safety and compliance

About You

We’re looking for a proactive leader with strong operational experience and a genuine commitment to health, safety and customer service.

You’ll ideally have:

  • IOSH, NEBOSH or another recognised Health & Safety qualification
  • Facilities Management qualification (HND, Diploma or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing facilities maintenance within a customer-facing environment
  • Previous experience leading and developing teams
  • Experience managing external contractors
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service

Experience within hospitality, leisure, retail, fitness or visitor attractions would be highly advantageous.
