- Perform optimisation exercises to improve process efficiency and reduce costs.
- To work both independently and with existing RD&E staff, ensuring safe and most effective practices.
- To liaise with process development, technical transfer and production teams ensuring successful commercialization of new products.
- To study papers, patents and publications to keep up to date with latest developments in the field.
- To help maintain the required level of Health and Safety within the lab including upkeep of H&S databases (e.g. COSHH, SDS, Risk Assessments).
- To undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by the Management of the company.
Minimum Qualifications
- A PhD degree in chemistry or equivalent (Preferably with a bias towards synthetic Chemistry – organic/polymer).
- An in-depth knowledge/experience of synthesis (preferably organic/polymer) and associated analytical techniques (preferably related to chromatographic/bead products).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a research and development or scientifically related field, preferably within an industrial setting.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Some supervisory experience in monitoring, leading/directing a team of individuals in project work/execution.
- Self-motivated, methodical, and organised with excellent attention to detail and reporting/communication skills.
