CNC Machining Programmer/Setter/Operator

Hales Group is recruiting for an experienced CNC Machining Programmer/Setter/Operator to join our client based in Letchworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business, working within a busy and modern workshop environment.
This permanent position offers full-time hours on a 37.5 hour basis. You will play a key role in supporting workshop operations during your shift, with responsibility for the programming, setting and running of various precision components.
Location: Letchworth
Hours: Full-time Day Shift (37.5 hour working week)
Basis: Permanent
Salary: £35-42.9K per annum (DOE)
Key Responsibilities
- Program machines (Doosan), both from scratch and from existing data
- Set and operate CNC machines
- Produce one-off press tools, working to tight tolerances
- Run a variety of precision components
- Confirm quality standards by conducting first-off inspections
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications
- Follow company procedures, including quality and Health & Safety guidelines
- Support across the workshop in line with continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC milling (essential)
- Experience working in a similar capacity within a workshop environment
- Strong ability to set, operate, and program CNC machinery
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, with knowledge of Delcam or SpaceClaim desirable
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and support a team environment
- Flexible and reliable approach to work
