Overview
Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital ICU Technical Services provides technical support to critical care units across Adult ICU, Paediatric, Neonatal, and High Dependency units.
Responsibilities
Maintain all medical equipment in high‑tech critical care areas, including calibration, performing physiological measurements, assisting in diagnostic procedures, and supporting point‑of‑care devices. Teach and train staff on equipment usage and conduct testing. Work nights, weekends, and shifts as needed.
Qualifications
Duties require relevant work experience. Candidates should have a degree in a relevant science subject (or equivalent experience) and a strong interest in instrumentation and technology. Recent graduates in physiological science are welcome; training will be provided under Annex 21, with progression to a senior band 6 position after training (unless already STP registered), completion of competence log book, and 1‑2 years consolidation period.
Benefits
Training contract pays a salary equal to 75 % of the top of Band 6 up to 12 months prior to completion; 70 % thereafter. Upon completion, salary will match senior band 6 pay band maximum.
