Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Workflow Administrator. The role of the Workflow Administrator is to process clinical correspondence safely, ensuring it is accurately coded, and to pass appropriate issues to GPs and other members of the practice clinical team in line with agreed clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Process clinical correspondence (paper, electronic, email) and attach it to the patient record.
  • Read/SNOMED code diagnoses, procedures, and investigations accurately, performing additional actions as per practice protocols.
  • Pass appropriate issues to GPs, clinical and non‑clinical teams.
  • Identify complex or higher risk areas that require clinical input, including safeguarding issues.
  • Work to the agreed practice protocols.
  • Receive feedback on work, including the workflow audit from the GP Workflow Team Leader.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the GP Workflow Lead to identify potential improvements.
  • Perform any other duties deemed commensurate with the level of the post.

Job Details

Responsible to: Practice ManagerReports to: Business and Finance ManagerHours of work: 20 hours weekly (flexible during interview)Salary: Starting £13.12 per hour, reviewed after 6‑month training programme

Qualifications

  • Experience performing Workflow Administrator duties.
  • Capacity to undertake 20 hours weekly between Monday and Friday.
  • Confidently navigate clinical systems (EMIS, Docman) with training.
  • Understand SNOMED codes and know how to search for them on the clinical system.
  • Willingness to undertake detailed online training and receive critical feedback.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills and self‑motivation, able to work independently as well as in a team.
